Equipment :

There is a policy of continuous investment in new equipment in the practice: this process is ongoing.

Sterilisation :

is achieved by a chip controlled Type B vacuum autoclave which passes the absolute standard used internationally: the Helix test. This is combined with an audit trail supplied by Meditrax means, for example, that all fast drills can have their particular recent sterilisation history traced from the load they were processed with to the patient’s chart. This equipment and tracing system provides a first class safeguard for the patient concerning cross infection control and sterilisation.

Diagnostic and imaging equipment :

The Diagnodent laser system provides non- invasive diagnosis of early caries on surfaces which are difficult for radiographs to access. The laser is 97% accurate and allows two functions: firstly, the diagnosis of caries and secondly the monitoring of a carious lesion to monitor the progress of the caries over a period of time. The Schick digital x- ray system is a state of the art system which utilises modern technology to reduce exposure to radiographs by up to 80 %. We also have available conventional radiographs.

Systems :

The specialist, dedicated Profile endodontic system is used in the practice. The Brannemark Implant System is the system of first choice. A wide range of referral routes are used to a variety of consultants and specialists, where this is deemed appropriate, in such disciplines as orthodontics, oral surgery and periodontology.
